| Meet Our Homesteader |
The Yolanda Rountree Family Yolanda Rountree is a hard working single parent with two children—Michael, 12, and Amiya, 9. To support her children, Yolanda works 60 hours a week at two jobs, as a cook and a receptionist. The family’s journey has been a difficult one. They have moved five times in the past eight years and have lived in unsafe, unhealthy and cramped quarters. There were times when they had to bathe at a friend’s house or at a motel. In Yolanda’s words, being a part of the Habitat family will provide her and her children with “…the security and sense of stability that I have been praying for.” “We will be forever grateful to each and every person who had anything to do with making our dream become our reality.” |
